Fear and the Bible

I would like to talk about an emotion that everyone has felt before. This emotion usually brings about worry, anger, and paranoia. Sometimes this emotion keeps a person in check from doing the wrong thing. The emotion I am talking about is fear.
We know what fear is, but what’s the opposite of fear? I looked up the antonym of fear and came up with bravery, courage, assurance, and fearlessness. I think a lot of people allow fear to control their lives to some degree.
Fear encompasses many topics that I’d like to talk about, but I’m going to narrow it down to a couple of points I am trying to get across. People let fear keep them from being truly happy in life. I want to clarify something before I go any further. If what makes you happy consists of harming or killing anything, then I am totally against it. God’s teachings in the New Testament teach against harming or killing anything.
Now back to fear, I feel that people allow fear to stop them from moving forward in life or pursuing things they want. If you are unhappy with your life right now, then maybe you should ask yourself why. If any of your reasons for being unhappy stem from fear, then you need to speak to that mountain and tell it to move because God does not give us a spirit of fear!
Fear immobilizes people! Have you ever felt like you’ve been at a stand still in life and you keep going in circles? Have you ever felt like you run into the same problems over and over? Maybe you have been dating the same person off and on for years. Have you often wondered why you keep rekindling the relationship? Maybe you fear that you can’t find anyone better or maybe you think no one else can love you like they can. I’m just throwing out an example, but WAKE UP! We are supposed to be moving forward in life.
On a second note, I don’t think fear is always a bad thing because sometimes; it keeps us in check. Let me explain myself, so you will understand where I am coming from. You may be about to do something wrong. Let’s say you are about to steal something and you might think about the consequences of what could happen if you get caught. Now, maybe the thought of those consequences instill a little bit of fear, hence the idea of stealing is no longer appealing to you.
Have you noticed that fear starts in the mind? Our minds are the playing field and the best way to conquer fear is to look to the bible for answers. If you fear being lonely, remember God said he would never leave you or forsake you. All you have to do is trust God and know that he is in control of all your situations.
