First gay club experience
I would like to share my first gay club experience with all my readers. I was so excited and nervous. I went with my older brother, who is also gay and some friends of mine from work. I wanted to make sure I wore the perfect outfit and looked my very best, so I’ll tell you how it all happened.
My older brother asked me if I wanted to go to a gay club. He knew about me struggling with being gay, so he thought a little bit of culture would help me in my journey to freedom. The club he invited me to was called Southern Nights at the time, but now it’s called The Majestic Revolutions. My brother invited a few of his friends and then I invited a few of my friends.
My friends were from work and one of them was gay as well, but he was very open about being gay. The church I use to go to considered my friends from work to be a bad influence on me, but if you ask me they helped me see the truth about myself. We all met at my brother’s friend’s house. My brother’s friend is a hairdresser and he helped me complete my perfect look for the gay club I was about to explore.
I had the perfect outfit and I looked like a million bucks. I wore a nice pair of tight blue jeans, boots, button down white shirt, and a black tie. My brother’s friend, who is the hairdresser, cut my hair in his kitchen. He is the sweetest guy. I was due for a haircut that night, but I guess my brother’s friend thought I was in desperate need of a haircut and couldn’t let me celebrate my first night out at a gay club with my hair looking the way it did. I was now ready to go out.
I couldn’t believe how many gay people gathered at one location. I saw my first drag queen show that night and I loved it! The drag queen that I liked goes by the name of Danielle Hunter and she performed Pink’s song called, “just like a pill”. I was blown away by how beautiful these drag queens looked. After the drag show, I went out to the dance floor.
After having a few drinks, I went out on the dance floor with my brother and friends. I danced the night away that night. I didn’t get approached by any lesbians that night, but I was okay with that; because I was just enjoying myself so much. I danced and laughed the whole night. My brother said it was good to see me let my hair down another words he was happy to see me let loose. I will never forget my first night out at a gay club.
