There are two people I know of that are having opposing ideas when it comes to being gay and Christian. Mel White believes you can be gay and Christian, but Joe Dallas believes you cannot be gay and Christian. I agree with what Mel White says. I will give you information on both of these authors. Mel White wrote the book “Stranger at the Gate”. Joe Dallas wrote the book “A Strong Delusion”.

Mel White was known by the leaders of the religious right as one of their most talented and productive supporter, but they had no idea he was gay. Mel White wrote a book about how he was counseled, exorcised, electric-shocked, prayed for, and nearly driven to suicide because his church said homosexuality was wrong. Mel White spent 25 years trying to cure his self of this disease, but there is no cure. He has a very unique coming-out story in his book titled “Stranger at the Gate”. There are always opposing authors on this touchy topic.

Joe Dallas believes that you cannot be gay and Christian. He believes that the gay Christian movement will pave the way for pedophiles. Did I just say what you think I said? Yes, I did. Joe Dallas claims to be transformed from gay to straight. He was gay for seven years and now he is married to a woman and has children. Do I think he has transformed?

I personally do not believe someone can transform from being gay to being straight. Maybe if you are bi-sexual you could be either straight or gay, but for the most part I do not believe being gay is a choice. Being in the gay life style isn’t easy because we have so many judgmental people out there, but who cares what they think. As long as you know in your heart, that you love God and have accepted the Lord Jesus as your lord and savior, then that’s all you need. Don’t live your whole life trying to be straight because you fear that you won’t make it to heaven. God wouldn’t want you to live your life in fear. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a sound mind.
